The School
L.E.A.R.N. stands for “Lavorare ad Essere Autonomi e Responsabili Noi” (“We Work Independently and Responsibly”). Through its role as a Social Promoting School, L.E.A.R.N. embodies the application field of the theoretical ProWeb® model (Promoting Well Being). This model represents a scientific research process that defines an educational organisation that is both personalised and flexible in its educational objectives and plan. Broadly speaking we strive to:

School Health Education
The education received during early childhood affects our behaviour and our lifestyle for the rest of our lives. ProWeb, as the name may suggest is focused on promoting positive influences and preventing those that negatively affect our health.
According to WHO (World Health Organisation), health is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. (1948)
This is why health is crucial to us and we consider it not only a life objective but also a resource for everyday life. It is truly empowering to recognise in a timely manner potential risks, personal and internal (mental and physical) as well as environmental and external (social and materialistic).
We wish to give our students the chance to study and to develop the best decision-making skills regarding their health in an informed, responsible and positive manner. It is important for us that our students develop their own abilities to reach a dynamic state of balance and health. ProWeb considers school the ideal social context where “people [can] engage in daily activities in which environmental, organisational and personal factors interact to affect health and well-being”. (WHO, 1998).
Primary School
The association focuses on education, training and research in the world of pedagogy and schooling. L.E.A.R.N. is considered a bilingual (English-Italian) private, unofficially and non-legally recognised school which has decided to evaluate our students’ acquired skills internally and conducted by our teachers and a learning screening done by our psychologist.
L.E.A.R.N.’s educational plan follows the MIUR ministry program and a European educational approach. Only the teaching methods differ in our school. At the end of each school year the students undergo an examination of competence based on the year’s school program in order to move on to the next year. This examination is held in a public school of the territory and it is evaluated by an external commission.
Kindergarten
Every morning our younger students attend classes taught only in English by native English speaker. The kindergarten follows the same methods as the primary school. In the afternoon classes are taught in Italian. To prepare the children for their future curricular activities there are also activity-filled moments appropriate for each child’s level all based on the learn-by-doing theory.
